When I saw the notification that the amazing team of Cosplaycloud was organizing an ice skating meet I was all ears! I absolutely love ice skating and since I'm feeling more and more comfortable in the cosplay community I thought this would be a great opportunity to get to meet some more people outside the conventions and have some fun.
My ticket was booked fast, my ice skates pulled from under the dust and the only thing left to do was decide whether or not I'd go in cosplay.
I haven't decided yet since a big Santa hat and weird Christmas sweater are nice too (and maybe just a bit safer on the ice, I love skating but I'm not necessarily good at it).
I ended up taking my Viking dress and a warm big Santa hat to combat the cold of the ice skating rink, and I was so happy with this decision when I arrived! We started the meet off with a nice group photo and I got a lovely Christmas card. My dress ended up being very comfortable for ice skating and my fur capelet was incredibly warm and cozy. It was so fun to see everyone in cosplay skating around in between the 'normal' people and people loved seeing us all in our costumes!
I ended up leaving a bit early because I got a huge fit of fatigue and I still had a long road home. It was super fun and next year this will be a top of my list again!
