Suki - Avatar The Last Airbender

The Inspiration

I've always loved Avatar the Last Airbender. As a kid I'd rush to the tv to watch it (before on demand existed) and meticulously track which episodes I'd already seen and which ones I missed. I was so amazed by the idea of elemental bending that I even tried to 'bend' water in the shower!

Suki is, without doubt, one of the most awesome characters in the series. Even without bending skills she overpowers a lot of benders and the episode of The Boiling Rock was just *chef's kiss*. I thought that her makeup was one of the best character details, apart from the fans, and even though it's a hell to put on I still love doing it.

Suki came onto my cosplan list because my friend and I wanted to make a new character, and it so happened that we both simultaneously came with Suki and we decided to do a team cosplay! Even though I love her original outfit, I wanted to dig deeper into the samurai side of her armour. I have leatherworking skills and it just seemed awesome to make an actual leather armour for her so the plan was born!
