My first Dutch convention: DCC! Since this was a 3 hour drive for me I had a little sleepover with my friend before hitting the road in the morning and going to the biggest con of The Netherlands!
With her success of last time, Suki was the logical choice. We actually arrived late at the con because we both struggled with our makeup but in the end we managed. It took about 15 minutes to get dressed on the parking lot and we got a lot of onlookers but eventually we made it in!
Right at the entrance I saw the Going Merry, and since my little brother is a huge One Piece fan I had to take a picture! Later on I also got Zoro's 4 swords for him and he was super happy with them. I also made my first con purchase, a small wind chime with yellow flowers that I just couldn't leave behind!
So today I actually understood what my friend meant with 'people like to take pictures with you at cons'. We already had quite a lot of people during the day who asked for pictures, but at the end of the day it was like someone put a spotlight on us. I had reserved my brother's swords and we went to pick them up just before going home, 5 boxes of swords and 2 stands (my boyfriend fell for a katana too). It started with a family, and while we first thought only their son wanted a picture, it turned out that all 3 of them wanted a picture! Then came two boys, and even a small line started to form. I think we had 10 people who waited in line for pictures with us! I even gave my fan to a guy for the picture because he really wanted to pose like Suki with her fans and I thought that was awesome. Even though it was a bit tiring at the end after such a long day I felt super famous and it was so cool!
So yes, even though Suki is a lot of work in preparations, she is so awesome that she'll join me a lot more for sure!
