My brother was going to Comiccon Holland with some friends, and when I saw it was on Star Wars Day I simply couldn't resist and got tickets. That, of course, meant going in a Star Wars cosplay and since I love making unconventional things I picked Ahsoka Tano in her outfit from Star Wars Rebels!
The work on the cosplay was immense but so satisfactory! It was the first time that I bought patterns of Etsy to help me make a foam armour and the lekku (also the first time making foam armour and a lekku) and even though it was a rollercoaster to say the least, the result turned out so much better than I expected!
We ended up going to the convention with a whole group: me, my mum, my brother, two of his friends and one of their mums. Already at the entrance there were a bunch of people from the 501st and while we waited for my brother and his friends (it was girl group - boy group) I got a lot of compliments and pictures which made me feel super awesome!
The con itself was busy, and since it was my first time there it was nice to see the differences between the cons. The life-size Tie Fighter was just magnificent and I even met a Wookie! I think the best part of the day was a small kid in a Jedi outfit that wanted to take a picture with me while we were standing at the lightsaber academy. The guy from the academy gave him and me a lightsaber and I don't think I ever saw a kid that excited to take a picture (for privacy reasons I didn't post him but it's one of my favorite pictures from this con!).
We ended the day with some fries and a glorious fresh waffle. Even though the lekku and the bodypaint were boiling hot it was so worth bringing Ahsoka along, she's definitely one of my favourite cosplays!
