Made In Asia - Brussels (BE) 19-10-2025

For what would be one of my last conventions of the year, I wanted to think outside of the box since the weekend of Facts was already booked full and the ticket prices from DCC were just insane. I had already cancelled Made In Asia in spring and I thought it would be nice to give it a chance this time!

Because I simply can't stop myself and I have too many cosplans, I decided to make a new cosplay for this occasion too. Cammy from Street Fighter had been on my cosplan list for a while and I thought to myself, why not for Made In Asia? So of course I put myself in a three week concrunch doing new things and using new techniques just to get her done in time!

I decided to go by myself again, partly because I wanted to meet up with some people and not feel obligated to keep moving, partly because I noticed that when I go by myself I don't have the urge to mother everyone around me and feel responsible for everyone, which can be very exhausting and quite often ruins my own experience. It turned out to be a very good decision because I met with so many people!

Right off the bat I met my fellow Mihawk cosplayer and we had a nice little chat, then I started to browse the shops. I didn't fully understand the size of Made In Asia until I got lost at every turn. It was so big that it took me some time to get the idea of the layout, and by then I ran into some other people to chat with which was super nice. I also met Baymax! I got a lot of recognition while walking around (got mistaken for a Tekken and Mortal Kombat character but I forgave the mix-up) and quite a lot of people wanted pictures too. I had expected to get a certain level of creepshots because of the bodysuit but I didn't see a single one and everybody asked nicely so faith in humanity = restored. During the day I had multiple photographers asking for pictures and at the end even a small shoot outside so I can't wait to get those shots! One of the photographers gave me his card, which was his Instagram name written on an actual Pokémon card and I'll treasure it forever.

I think the nicest compliments I got were about the braids, which had cost me so much of my sanity so to hear that they looked amazing really did lift me up. And of course the little girl that called me pretty, asked if I was cold and then rubbed my arm to warm me up (insert crying emotion here)!

Cammy turned out to be my second most comfortable cosplay (after the Viking). She was not too hot and not too cold, I could carry a backpack around (huuuuge game changer), there were no parts that I had to watch out for and no risk of things getting broken or people getting poked. The only problem were the boots; despite 10 gel bandaids I still got a blister on my heel but it was small so I'll live. All in all she's a really nice cosplay to bring along and no makeup means no hassle in the mornings either!

I really had one of the best days at a convention so far, because honestly I didn't even go for the shops, I went to meet up with people and be social for a change and those people wanted to meet up with me too and that made me feel so appreciated. It's amazing to see how you can feel so free when you can be yourself and everybody lifts you up, no negativity, only compliments and positivity. Definitely one of the best days!
