Vikingwoman
The Inspiration
My Viking actually came onto my list because of my mum. She has a thing with Vikings, and when she found out there would be a VikingFest nearby she really wanted to go. My mum is a great seamstress and we decided to make our own Viking dresses to go in style!
I saw the Vikings series, which were super cool, but since this event was historically accurate I wanted to make a dress that would have been worn during those times and not just a fancy leather harness. My mum and I looked up a lot of information, and found out that the dresses were made from one piece of fabric where nothing went to waste. After our trip to Norway where we saw a lot of dresses, brooches and beads in real life, we got super inspired and started right away!
